Pass Christian Stays Perfect While Long Beach Streak Ends
by Charlie Rook
Pass Christian continued its unbeaten start while Long Beach saw its three-game winning streak come to an end in another busy week of football on the Coast.
Pass Christian defeated Greene County 38-14 to improve to 7-0 on the season. The Pirates have been one of the hottest teams in the state to begin the year and have continued to produce offensively, averaging more than 40 points per game through their first seven contests.
The Pirates will look to stay perfect when they travel to Forrest County Agricultural on Friday, Oct. 9.
Long Beach, meanwhile, suffered its first loss since opening night with a 31-14 road defeat against South Jones. The loss dropped the Bearcats to 3-2 after they had put together consecutive victories over Forrest County Agricultural, Bay and Purvis.
Long Beach will now turn its attention to region play. The Bearcats return home Friday, Oct. 9, to host Gautier as they look to get back into the win column.
