Long Beach and Pass Christian both picked up important victories Thursday night as the two teams continued their seasons.

Long Beach returned home looking to bounce back from a 31-14 loss against South Jones. The Bearcats faced Gautier in their first district matchup of the season and came away with a 16-14 victory.

The win moves Long Beach to 4-2 on the season. After winning just one game last year, the Bearcats have already shown significant improvement this fall.

Long Beach has now won four of its last five games, including victories over Forrest County Agricultural, Bay, Purvis and Gautier.

The Bearcats will travel to Pascagoula on Friday, October 16, looking to build on their district-opening victory.

Pass Christian, meanwhile, continued its undefeated start with a 42-7 victory over Forrest County Agricultural.

The Pirates entered Thursday’s matchup 6-0 after defeating Greene County 38-14 the previous week.

Pass Christian once again found success offensively, scoring 42 points while holding Forrest County Agricultural to just seven.

The victory improves the Pirates to 7-0. Pass Christian has now scored 314 points through seven games and has scored at least 38 points in every contest this season.

The Pirates will look to remain undefeated Friday, October 16, when they travel to Moss Point for another district matchup.
