On February 5, the library will partner with the Pass Christian Garden Club to host a special garden program with Master Gardener Darlene Underwood. The 1 p.m. presentation, titled “Climbing Beauties,” will be held in the library conference room.  The program is free, and everyone is welcome to attend.

February 18-20 brings the return of Blues musician “Bayor” Shannon Williford, who will host the Youth Mississippi Blues Harmonica three-day workshop, designed for students in fifth to eighth grade. Planned for 2 to 4 p.m. for those three days, the timing coincides with most Mardi Gras school breaks. During the workshop, students will learn about the Mississippi Delta Blues and how to play the harmonica. The workshop will conclude with a concert, where students will showcase their newly-acquired skills. Each participant will receive a harmonica and a songbook. Although the workshop is free, space is limited. Interested individuals should reserve their spot by calling or emailing the library.

Sit, Stay, Read! is back on Feb. 21.

On February 21, the start of the 2026 season of the Sit, Stay, READ! children’s reading program will kick off from 10 a.m. until noon. The popular free activity, which pairs children with therapy dogs to read to, is held on the third Saturday of the month.  Sponsored by the Visiting Pet Teams of South Mississippi, the reading sessions, which last for about thirty minutes, are designed to improve children’s reading skills in a fun and exciting way.  Children are rewarded with coupons, bookmarks, stickers or pencils for participating. There is no need to pre-register. Participating children must not be afraid of or allergic to animals.  Future sessions are planned for March 21, April 18 and May 16.

The Pass Christian Library is located at 111 Hiern Avenue in Pass Christian. For more information or to register for any of their programs, call 228-452-4596 or email PassChristianLibrary@gmail.com.
