A sign of progress in the City’s Gateway Project

There is literally a sign of progress when it comes to the City of Long Beach’s Gateway Project, as the Streetscape Signage Project is now well underway.
A new sign heralding the different types of businesses, such as a skin care studio and antiques, operating in the hub of the Friendly City now welcomes those passing through or driving along Highway 90 in Long Beach. The sign is perched at one of the busiest intersections in the city, Jeff Davis Avenue and Highway 90.
It’s part of Long Beach’s $4.3 million Gateway Project, which is being implemented in two phases. The new street sign is part of the first phase of the project, which includes welcome signs at the intersection of Jeff Davis Avenue and Highway 90, as well as at the intersection of South Cleveland Avenue and Highway 90, designed to draw tourists to the city’s harbor area. Once complete, phase two will begin, which includes harbor parking lot improvements and a lighthouse.
