Long Beach Rolls to Third Straight Shutout in 4–0 Win

The Long Beach (MS) varsity soccer team won Tuesday’s home non-conference match against Resurrection Catholic (Pascagoula, MS) by a score of 4-0.
Long Beach continued its strong run of play Tuesday night with a decisive 4–0 victory over Resurrection Catholic, holding the Eagles scoreless from start to finish. The shutout marked the third consecutive match in which Long Beach’s defense refused to yield a goal, a stretch that has become a defining feature of the team’s recent success.
The win was another step forward for a Long Beach squad that has found its rhythm at the right time. The team has now claimed victories in five of its last six contests, pushing its overall record to 8–6 on the season. Solid defensive organization paired with consistent scoring has allowed Long Beach to control matches and build momentum as the schedule moves along.
Resurrection Catholic, meanwhile, suffered its second straight loss, slipping to 5–5–1 for the year. Despite flashes of competitiveness, the Eagles were unable to break through a disciplined Long Beach back line and struggled to generate sustained pressure in the attacking third.
Both teams return to action Friday. Long Beach will travel to face Pascagoula in a 7:30 p.m. matchup, looking to extend its recent surge. Resurrection Catholic will take on St. Patrick at 5:30 p.m., a challenging assignment against a team averaging just over three goals per game this season. The Eagles’ defense will need to be sharp as they aim to get back on track.
