Long Beach Relays Set for March 26 as Bearcats Prepare to Host

The Long Beach Relays is one of the Mississippi Gulf Coast’s top early-season track and field events, bringing together high school athletes from across the region to compete.
The meet is held each year in Long Beach, Mississippi and hosted by Long Beach High School. As track and field season moves forward, the Bearcats are preparing to host this year’s event on March 26. The meet is expected to draw strong competition from schools across the Gulf Coast and surrounding areas.
The Long Beach Relays was created to support both competition and community involvement through high school athletics. It gives student-athletes from public and private schools a chance to compete early in the season and work toward qualifying for larger meets organized by the Mississippi High School Activities Association.
The event includes a full schedule of track and field competitions. Running events range from sprints to long-distance races, along with hurdles and relays. Field events include shot put, discus, high jump, long jump, and pole vault. Teams earn points in each event, with overall winners named in both boys’ and girls’ divisions.
More than just a competition, the Long Beach Relays also brings the community together. Coaches, families, and fans come out to support their teams and celebrate the hard work of student-athletes. The event continues to play an important role in building school pride and encouraging participation in sports.
As the season continues, the Long Beach Relays remains an important event for athletes and a valued tradition for the Long Beach community.
