Dubbed “America’s Biggest Block Party,” tens of thousands of visitors once again are expected to roll into South Mississippi in record-breaking numbers for the 29th Annual Cruisin’ the Coast (CTC) weeklong event, scheduled for October 5 – 12 this year.

Long Beach’s Annual Cruisin’ the Coast Parade is set to take place on Day 2 of the event, on Monday, October 6, at 5:30 p.m. The first six hundred registered CTC vehicles to arrive at the Long Beach High School parking lot next to the football field will be able to roll along the streets of downtown Long Beach in this year’s parade. Line up will begin at 1 p.m.  A concert will be held at the Long Beach Harbor after the parade.

Event registration is now available online at CruisinTheCoast.com. Early bird registration runs through August 15.

New this year is the Cruisin’ the Coast July newsletter, which will soon be hitting the mailboxes of registered CTC participants, past and present, and will also be posted to the event website. The newsletter includes a complete schedule of this year’s CTC events, concert schedules, as well as a fold-out map of Jones Park in Gulfport, where Cruise Central will be located. Also new this year, there will be a change for the popular Auto Cross event, which is detailed in the newsletter.

Now heading into its 29th year, Cruisin’ the Coast is viewed by many as the launch of the fall tourism season in South Mississippi and is a welcome boost for local businesses, restaurants and other venues that reap the economic benefits of the world-renowned event each year.

For the sixth consecutive year, Cruisin’ the Coast has taken the coveted top spot in USA Today’s “10 Best Reader’s Choice Awards,” voted once again as the best car show in the United States.

Cruisin’ the Coast began back in 1996 with 374 vehicles. Last year, 9,961 CTC vehicles were officially registered for the event, featuring drivers from forty-four states, Canada, England and New Zealand.
