The Krewe of Waggus will host its second annual Mardi Gras Pet Pawrade on Saturday, January 24. Set to begin a 1 p.m., the Pawrade will parade through downtown Pass Christian, complete with small floats for the Krewe Royalty and a Celebrity Grand Marshal.

Humans are invited to participate in the Pawrade by walking with their pets in decorated strollers or wagons or in costumes. There will also be a section for decorated golf carts, as well as a memorial banner honoring those furry (or not-so-furry) friends who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

There is a small fee for parade participation, with proceeds benefitting Animal A.I.D. of Mississippi and St. Vincent De Paul Catholic School. Registration is required in advance for all those who wish to participate as Krewe Royalty, and all other Pawrade entrants are welcome to register onsite the day of the Pawrade.

The Pawrade will begin at the pavilion at Davis Avenue and 2nd Street.  It will proceed south to Scenic Drive and then west on Scenic Drive to Bacchus on the Beach (111 W. Scenic Drive) for a post-parade block party.
