Long Beach’s Season Ends with Second Loss to Hattiesburg

Long Beach and Hattiesburg squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Long Beach had to settle for second. They fell 6-1 to the Tigers. Unfortunately, that’s the second time they’ve come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 on Thursday.

Long Beach saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Flynn James, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double was James’ first of the season.

Long Beach has been struggling recently as they’ve lost three of their last four matchups. That’s put a noticeable dent in their 16-15 record this season. As for Hattiesburg, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-9.

Long Beach does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hattiesburg, they will challenge Pearl River Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
