Long Beach High Gears Up for Fall with “Meet the Bearcats”

Long Beach Senior High School is set to welcome students, families, and community members to its “Meet the Bearcats” kickoff event on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 6 p.m. at Lumpkin Magee Stadium. The evening will serve as an opportunity for fans to show their support for the Bearcats while enjoying a variety of activities and entertainment.
The event will feature appearances by the Long Beach High School football team, cheerleaders, and the Bearcat band, along with local youth football and cheer programs. Attendees can take part in a 50/50 raffle, purchase concessions, and cool off with snow treats from Off The Grid Snowshack. Organizers say the night is designed to bring the community together ahead of the fall sports season and to build excitement for the year ahead.
The 2025 Bearcats Varsity Football team is led by Head Coach Codey Finley, with a dedicated coaching staff that includes assistant coaches Larry Schaff, Cameron Olsen, Anthony Johnson, and Johnathan Chiniche, as well as defensive line coach Horace Fortenberry. With their leadership, the team is preparing for a competitive and spirited season.
School officials encourage all residents to attend and show their Bearcat pride, noting that the annual tradition not only highlights student athletes and performers but also reflects the strong community support that surrounds Long Beach schools.
