Mississippi Gulf Coast Soccer Secures Consecutive Player of the Week Titles

Last week, sophomore midfielder Alexander Mink of Long Beach shifted into a more defensive role against Georgia Military but still made his mark on the match. Mink scored a hat trick, proving just how valuable he is to the No. 14 Bulldogs. His performance helped him earn MACCC Player of the Week, an honor voted on by conference sports information directors. Over the course of Gulf Coast’s 1-1 week, he totaled four goals, further building on a career that already includes NJCAA All-American recognition as a freshman.
This week, it was freshman forward Trey Roche’s turn to be recognized. The Pass Christian native was named MACCC Player of the Week after contributing two goals and an assist for the No. 15 Bulldogs. Roche scored in a 6-0 victory over Meridian, where he also assisted another goal, and found the net again in a narrow 2-1 loss to No. 13 Pearl River. He becomes the third Bulldog this season to receive the weekly conference honor.
With strong performances from both new and returning players, Gulf Coast continues to prove itself as one of the region’s top programs.
