Long Beach Continues Home Success With Narrow Win Over Pascagoula

Long Beach continued its strong run this week by showing it can win in more than one way. After a convincing four-goal victory earlier in the week, the Bearcats followed up on Friday night with a hard-fought 1–0 win over Pascagoula, proving they can handle tight matches just as well as dominant ones.

Defense once again set the tone for Long Beach, as the Bearcats held the Panthers scoreless from start to finish. The shutout marked Long Beach’s fourth straight clean sheet, underscoring a disciplined back line and consistent play in goal that has become a hallmark of the team’s recent success.

The difference in the match came from Daxus Arkin, who found the net for the lone goal of the night. The score added to his growing impact this season and gave Long Beach all it needed to secure the win.

With the victory, Long Beach improved its record to 9–6 and extended its home winning streak to three matches. Those home performances have been especially impressive, with the Bearcats not allowing a single goal during that stretch. Pascagoula, meanwhile, dropped to 3–10–2 as it continues to search for consistency.

Long Beach will look to keep its momentum going Tuesday night when it hosts Gautier at 7 p.m. Pascagoula also returns to action Tuesday, traveling to face Pearl River Central at 7 p.m. The Panthers will meet a Pearl River Central team that is currently riding a four-game losing streak, giving Pascagoula an opportunity to regroup and turn the page.
