PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE ISSUED FOR PORTION OF N. NICHOLSON AVENUE

The City of Long Beach Public Works will be conducting a planned project that will temporarily result in a loss of water pressure. As a precaution, a boil water notice is being issued until further
notice for the following area:

Affected Area:
• N. Nicholson Avenue (from E. Railroad Street to Allen Road)

Important: Customers whose addresses are not located within this area are not affected.

This precautionary notice is issued in accordance with guidelines from the Mississippi State Department of Health. When water pressure in a distribution system drops, there is a possibility that contaminants may enter the system through back-siphonage.

While this does not necessarily mean the water is unsafe, all customers in the affected area are advised to boil water prior to consumption until the notice is officially lifted.

Once the project is complete and normal water pressure has been restored, the City will collect water samples for laboratory testing. The boil water notice will remain in effect until test results confirm the water is safe.

Customers will be notified promptly when the notice has been lifted.
