Southern Miss Adjusts Weekend Baseball Game Times Due to Commencement

Southern Miss Athletics has announced a change in game times for this weekend’s baseball series against the University of Louisiana, set to take place at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field. The adjustments were made to accommodate the university’s spring commencement ceremonies being held on campus.

The opening game of the three-game series, originally scheduled for an earlier time, will now be played on Friday evening with first pitch set for 7:00 p.m. Saturday’s game has also been moved and will now begin at 3:00 p.m. These updates are intended to alleviate traffic and parking congestion while allowing fans and graduates’ families to attend both the ceremonies and the baseball games.

Sunday’s contest, which marks the final home game of the regular season for the Golden Eagles, remains unchanged with first pitch scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

In addition to the on-field action, Saturday will be a particularly meaningful day for the Southern Miss baseball program, as the team will recognize its seven senior student-athletes in a special pregame ceremony. These seniors have contributed significantly to the team’s success and will be honored for their leadership, dedication, and accomplishments during their time in black and gold.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early for Saturday’s game to take part in the Senior Day festivities and show appreciation for the players’ hard work and commitment to the program.

Tickets for all three games of the series are still available and can be purchased through the Southern Miss Athletics website. Supporters are encouraged to secure their seats in advance as the Golden Eagles continue their push toward postseason play.
