Long Beach Looks for a Rebound After a Difficult Last Season

After a difficult 2025 season, the Long Beach Bearcats will look to turn things around as they prepare for the 2026 campaign.

Long Beach finished last season with a 1-9 overall record and struggled in region play. The season followed a 2-9 finish in 2024 as the Bearcats continue to look for progress within the program.

Head coach Cody Finley will lead the Bearcats into the new season as Long Beach looks to find more success on both sides of the ball.

The Bearcats will get several opportunities early in the season to build momentum before region play begins. Long Beach opens at home against St. Stanislaus on Aug. 21 before hosting Pass Christian the following week. Forrest County Agricultural, Bay and Purvis are also on the early portion of the schedule.

Long Beach will compete in Class 6A Region 4 this season. The Bearcats begin region play in October, with games against Gautier, Picayune and Pearl River Central among those currently listed on the schedule.

After back-to-back difficult seasons, Long Beach will look to take a step forward in 2026 and begin building momentum for the future.
